Type I Borosilicate glass is characterized by low alkali and alkaline earth metal content, providing excellent resistance to chemical attack and hydrolysis. This ensures minimal ionic leaching (e.g., Na⁺, Ca²⁺), preventing pH variation, analyte loss, and elemental contamination—critical for trace level and bioanalytical workflows.
The hydrophobic surface further minimizes interaction between the vial wall and polar or semi polar analytes, supporting accurate quantification in GC/MS applications.
Surface Chemistry and Hydrophobicity
The inner surface exhibits low surface hydroxyl (–OH) density, resulting in a relatively hydrophobic glass surface.

Crimp Neck and Sealing Integrity
The vial features a 20 mm Bevel-mouth crimp finish, engineered to create a hermetic seal when used with aluminum caps and PTFE/silicone septa. From a mechanical standpoint:
